Casten Ronnow was of Scottish origin from the Dublar family. Magnus Dublar [SSNE 772] (senior) was a Scottish gentleman who settled at Ronneby as a merchant and town councillor. He had two children. Casten Dublar was born in 1638 and died in 1691. He studied at Strasbourg (1656), Rostock (1659) and Copenhagen the same year. Casten became parson of Aarhus in 1661 and later in Sweden of Almstad and Örebro. He also became a member of the Swedish diet. His brother Magnus was born in the 1630's and later became an officer in the Swedish navy. He married Maria Schmidt of Copenhagen, their grandson Casten Ronnow admitted to Swedish aristocracy 1776. The Dublar's took the name of Ronnow after their native town once they moved to Sweden.
