Eric Lindsay was the son of Major Jacob Lindsay [SSNE 2962] and Helena Hufvudskold. He enlisted as an ensign in the Kronoborg regiment in 1671 and became the regimental quartermaster of it in 1677. The following year he was promoted to captain and eventually attained the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1705, the same year that he died. He had been married, but left no issue.
