David Lindsay served first as an ensign in George Crawford's [SSNE 2086] regiment and then in Patrick Ruthven's [SSNE 3413]. regiment. A  David Lindsay then wrote to Axel Oxenstierna in 1633, but with the rank of lieutenant colonel. This same man (the signatures match) thereafter worte to Carl Gustaf Wrangel through until 1649, usually with claims for various payments.
