Lieutenant Captain Robert Mackenzie served in Monro's regiment in Sweden in 1632. He may be the man Monro records as being a major that year and later serving as General Adjutant under Field Marshall Leslie sometime after 1633. In December 1633/January 1634 Mackenzie got gratuities from the council of Nurnberg for the temporary occupation of the Castle of Veldenstein (Upper Palatinate) and for organising the defense of it against Imperial troops.
