Thomas Allison, in the employ of the Russian (Muscovy?) Company, left Archangel as captain of the Yarmouth ship, The Ann, on 8 October 1697. After 17 days at sea he arrived in North Cape where he put in to shelter. He wintered his ship there and eventually arrived in Gravesend on 24 April 1698. Allison left an account of his voyages.
