James Douglas was a Scottish officer in Swedish service. He was first an ensign in Alexander Hamilton's [SSNE 380] regiment in 1632 and then a lieutenant in John Hamilton's [SSNE 2595] regiment. This regiment was taken over by Ludovick Leslie [SSNE 396] and served at the battle of Lutzen
