Robert Dickson was first in Danish-Norwegian service, where he was a muster master. He received his reckoning by 18/10/1628. He then entered the Swedish army and served first in James Seaton's [SSNE 3476] regiment, and was reformed in 1630. In 1631 he joined George Cunningham's [SSNE 2118] regimentSwedish Krigsarkiv, Muster Roll, 1630/24-32; 1631/12-19. T. Riis, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot (Odense, 1988) p.138.
