Matthias Johannes Forbes was probably the son of Mattias Forbes [SSNE 2248] and Brita Martenson. His uncle Arvid [SSNE 2227] was Baron Forbus. His father Mattias was enobled in 1638. Matthias Johannes had two brothers, Arvid and Ernst. He was born in 1628 and died in 1652 after service as a captain in both the Skaraborg's and Bjorneborg's regiments.
