Text source

George Douglas was in Swedish service in 1608, and was sent to Scotland to levy troops under the auspices of James Spens [SSNE 1642]. He formed part of a group including Samuel Cockburn [SSNE 4219], Hugh Cochran [SSNE 4221], Daniel Rogers [SSNE 4222], Robert Kinnaird [SSNE 4223], Patrick Ruthven [SSNE 3413], John Wauchop [SSNE 4220] and William Horne [SSNE 4224]. This may be the same as captain G. Douglas noted by Fischer in Monnichhofen's regiment of Swedish service in 1613.
