William Campbell was a member of court martial in Captain Alexander Crawford's [SSNE 126] case 17/12/1628. He was then a captain in command of a company of Lord Spynie's [SSNE 177] foot which he recruited in 1628. Riis also mentions a lieutenant William Campbell having served in the Stralsund campaign and these are probably the same man. Campbell received his reckoning by 16/9/1628.
