BARCLAY, HARRY [SSNE 1933]
Text source
Henry/Harry Barclay was a Scottish officer in Swedish service. He started as a lieutenant in James Seaton's [SSNE 3476] regiment, moved on to George Cunningham's [SSNE 2118] where he was promoted to Captain. Served later as a Captain in Robert Cunningham's [SSNE 2132] regiment and thus probably served at the Battle of Wittstock - and survived. He left service in 1637. Cf [SSNE 1941].
Barclay evidently served in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms after leaving Swedish service. He served at these ranks:
Colonel, Barclay's Horse Troop: 1644-1647
Colonel, Barclay's Horse Regiment: 1647-1648
?, Burntisland Defense Regiment: 1651
