Hans Forbus served as an officer in Sweden between 1606 and 1609. Another soldier, Jan 'Farbus' is noted in Goransson, as an 'English' soldier. Along with two others, Isak Ciapley (Chapley) and Edward Brell, he plundered farmers in the Sollentuna region. They were put to death for their troubles. There is no evidence that these two John Forbes are the same man, or even that the criminal was an officer
