Text source

William Lindsay was a lieutenant colonel in Swedish service from 1632, in one source he served in an "English" (probably British) regiment. He wrote to Prince Karl Gustav requesting satisfaction over the late Colonel Andrew Lindsay's [SSNE 2951] outstanding pay. He left the Swedish army in May 1661 to return to Scotland. He later petitioned Charles II with others with a relation of their service in the Swedish army
