Comment:: The Latin rubric of the OE text gives the opening words of BHL 5303, but, curiously, quotes a text different from that used in the translation: 'passionem' is ignored in the OE, while 'gloriosam' is translated even though omitted from the rubric.

Comment:: A variant of the Life of St Margaret/Marina similar to the BHL 5304 variant was known in Anglo-Saxon England. Since the opening of BHL 5304 is identical to that of copies of BHL 5303, it is possible that the the OE writer was following the former. 'Deum' is translated, however, which is not in the surviving text of BHL 5304.
