Comment:: Bede's list of the Scillitan martyrs differs significantly -- not in content but in spelling (e.g. Martialis for Nartzalus) -- from those which occur in the early Passio (BHL 7527) and in the fuller Acta proconsularia (BHL 7531). Since he appears to have drawn details from both accounts, it may be that the version he used represented a now lost conflation of the two.
