Inverted Microscopy

The photographic images in this collection are taken in a time lapse session with an Inverted Microscope in the laboratory of Organic Semiconductor Centre. Inspired by the idea how plants react to the presence of explosive materials I exposed Arabidopsis Thaliana seeds to Dinitrobenzene (DNB) and Dimethyldinitrobutane (DMDNB) from the very beginning of the germination process. Depending how much the explosive compounds dissolve in water they can attach to the plant like in the case of DNB where the spikes of the tiny crystals are visible in the solution.
