The collection contains a variety of Sgraffiato bowls which are associated with the Byzantine period in Cyprus.  They bear the  distinctive green and yellow painted design along with shallow incised decoration depicting various images such as human figures, birds and cruciform images.  The bowl seen on the right  and in the second image below has been scanned in 3D – the shape of the object made it particularly difficult to scan as many angles were required to complete the image.  on closer inspection it is possible to see where a break in the dish has been repaired with a a piece of rim from another vessel!
