From St Ola/Kirkwall, but another source says he was born Letham, Dunnichen. (Possibly baptised 14.2.1830 son of James Wishart, Stromness and Ann Wishart.)

Tutored in theology by Rev. William Lothian, St Andrews.

Also at King’s College, Aberdeen - arts student 1844-1845, 1845-1846, 1848-1849, M.A. 1849.

Congregational minister Thurso 1849-1854. Swanland near Hull 1854-1865. Toxteth 1865-1881. Prenton, Birkenhead 1889-1893. Retired to Newquay. [Minister]
