Apprenticed Glasgow. Assistant to Jonathan Watson, Cupar.

Became chemist and druggist, St Andrews in 1822. Member of Town Council. Chairman St Andrews Gas Co. and St Andrews Railway Co.

[Perhaps the same as William Smith, United College 1841-1842.]

Death

Died 13.3.1872 aged 73 without issue.
