Baptised 15.10.1825 son of George Syme, schoolmaster, North Berwick and Jean Mitchell. [Teacher]

Career

Preacher then journalist on Westminster Review 1851. Emigrated to Victoria 1852. Wrote for Melbourne Argus then part owner with brother of Melbourne Age. Retired from management 1859. Member of Legislative Assembly, Avoca 1859 to death [1859-13.3.1860].

Death

Died at Melbourne [Australia] 13.3.1860.
