Birth/childhood

Born c. 1830. From St Andrews. According to Census 1841 was born in England son of [ ] Scott and Ann [ ] of independent means.

Career

Obtained a situation in Edinburgh in March 1853. Probably the James S. Scott from Fife who was an arts student at Edinburgh University 1854-1855.

Head master Larchfield Academy, Helensburgh.

Teacher in London, but in 1897 writes to say he is no longer a teacher.

Death

No address in General Council Register from 1901.
