Born 30.7.1828 son of James Ross, small tradesman or innkeeper (‘caupo’), Greenock and Ann Wilson. (According to Fasti ecclesiae scoticanae born 30.7.1828 son of John Ross, Dingwall).
Career
Also at Glasgow and Halle Universities. [Glasgow University, Halle University]
Ordained Greenock as chaplain to the Forces. Chaplain to Scots Greys 71st and 42nd Regiments and saw service in Crimea, Indian Mutiny [India] and Abyssinia 1854-1869. Minister Haddington 1869-1879.
Death
Died at Dunblane 13.12.1879.
