Licensed by Cupar Secession presbytery 1826. Minister Dalry 1829-1833 (suspended and expelled). Cowgate Mission, Edinburgh 1833. Joined United Christian Church 1835. Heriot Bridge, Edinburgh 1835-1837. He and congregation joined Original Burgher Synod 1838. Moved with Synod to Church of Scotland 1839. Minister Bathgate 1839-1841. Johnstone quoad sacra 1841-1845. Liverpool, Oldham St. 1845-1852. Arrived Victoria, Australia May, 1852. Queen St. Melbourne 1852-1853. Esendey 1853-1856. North Melbourne 1857-1858. Scots Sydney 1858-1862 (resigned). Mariners Church, 1862-1867.

Died Sydney [Australia] 18.7.1867.
