At graduation said to have seen much Army practice, but not in W. Johnston, Roll of commissioned officers in the Medical Service of the British Army 1727-1898 (Aberdeen, 1917)

Perhaps one of two Robert Newberrys who were surgeons Royal Navy. The first was Surgeon Royal Navy 24.11.1779 and the other was Surgeon Royal Navy 24.11.1799 and on 1.5.1818 held a quarantine appointment. [Doctor]
