Surgeon Shropshire Militia at graduation had practised some years.

Possibly the man who was apprenticed 1792 to James Russell, surgeon, Edinburgh.

Studied Edinburgh University - arts student 1791-1793, medical student 1793-1795, 1796-1799, 1802-1803, M.D. 1802.

L.R.C.S.E. 3.1.1797. L.R.C.P.L. 1806.

Physician Army Medical Service 1808. Retired on half pay 1824. Physician to British Embassy Constantinople [British Embassy Istanbul]. [Doctor]

Settled in Exeter c. 1814, but moved to Cheltenham in 1820 where he stirred up a row in attempting to set up practice. Returned to Exeter and then in London.
