Career

Apprenticed as a printer to Robert Tullis, who sent him to St Andrews. Worked in Cupar then editor Saunders Newsletter, Dublin. Schoolmaster Kirkcaldy then H.E.I.C.S. [Honorable East India Company's Service] as a private. Invalided and returned home to write. Editor, Fife Herald. [Teacher, soldier]
