Career

Apprenticed 1827 to Dr. Ramsay, Dundee, but transferred same year to Mr. Mackenzie, Edinburgh.

L.R.C.S.E. 1832. F.R.C.S.E. 18[??]. [Doctor]

Assistant to Robert Liston and succeeded him as Professor of Surgery, Edinburgh University 1842 - death [1842-17.6.1864]. [University professor]
