Studied Edinburgh University - M.A. 21.4.1858.

Started various schools, mainly in London. Said to have taken part in the American Civil War. War Correspondent 1864 during Prussia- Denmark War. Unsuccessfully contested two General Elections as a Liberal - Dundee 1874, Glasgow 1886. [Politician]
