Emigrated to United States in 1844. Settled in North Carolina and took charge of an Academy for young men. Went to Tuscumbia, Alabama 1849. Studied law. Admitted to the bar in Alabama. Elected to legislature 1853. Member State Senate 1857 . Presidential elector 1860. Governor of Alabama 1870-1871. [Teacher, law student, lawyer, politician]

Death

Died 13.2.1902. [Tuscumbia, Alabama]
