Born 16.3.1797 son of David Lees, meal and flour miller and farmer, Kemback and Agnes Traill.

Career

Also at Edinburgh University 1824-1825.

Teacher of mathematics, Edinburgh High School 1829-1834. Lecturer in the School of Arts, Edinburgh and teacher of mathematics Scottish Naval and Military Academy. [University lecturer]

Went to St Andrews in 1854 as assistant to Professor Duncan. Unsuccessful presentee to assistantship in mathematics class, United College.

Died at St Andrews 24.11.1886 aged 89.
