Studied law in Edinburgh. Worked in Dundee a few years then commission agent in Glasgow. Went to America in 1854.

Published poems including ‘The kiss ahint the door’. [Poet]

Editor of the Scottish American Journal.

Death

Died in New York [U.S.A.] 12.5.1894.
