Born c. 1806 son of James Landale, millwright, Newport and Helen Anderson.
Career
Started life as a mechanical engineer and entered employ of Admiral Wemyss of Wemyss of Wemyss Castle where he stayed until he set up on his own account as a mining engineer. Member of firm of Landale, Frew & Gemmell, mining engineers, Edinburgh. [Engineer]
Published papers on Fife coalfields.

Death
Died Burntisland 24.12.1895 aged 89.
