Baptised 6.3.1808 son of Peter Laing, clothier, Newburgh and Ann Anderson.

Career

Started life as a draper’s assistant. Joined uncle, Thomas Anderson, in the agency of the Commercial Bank in Newburgh in 1850. From 1855 sole agent. Sheriff clerk depute. A distinguished antiquary.

Death

Died Newburgh 4.12.1892 aged 84.
