Birth/childhood

Born 1776 at Beer Ferris, Devon son of William Knighton and grandson of William Knighton of Grenoven, Whitchurch.

Career

Studied at Edinburgh University - medical student 1804-1806. Also M.D. 1806 King’s College, Aberdeen.

L.R.C.P.L. 1806.

Assistant surgeon, Royal Naval hospital, Plymouth.

Practised in Hanover Square, London. Physician to Prince Regent. Made a baronet in 1813. Private Secretary and Privy Purse to George IV. Portrait by Sir David Wilkie. [Doctor]

Death

Died 11.10.1836 aged 59.
