Career

Studied Edinburgh University - medical student 1803-1804.

Surgeon Royal Navy. Physician to the Fleet 1807. Knighted in 1813 and was also Knight of the order of Vasa. Settled in Australia in 1814 and took a prominent part in public affairs. [Doctor]

Death

Died at his villa near Sydney, N.S.W. [New South Wales, Australia] 29.6.1844.
