Perhaps the man from Ayrshire who matriculated at Glasgow University in 1824-1825. M.D. Glasgow 1839
Perhaps also the James Howie from Newmills who was a theological student of the U.P. Church [United Presbyterian Church] 1830-1835. Licensed by Forfar U.P. presbytery [Forfar United Presbyterian presbytery], 1835 and was missionary with the London Society. Practised Strontian and in Cuba, West Indies. Latterly a farmer. [Theology student, minister]
Death
Died at Cuba, Wisconsin [U.S.A.] 16.1.1887.
