Career
Travelling tutor to several noblemen in succession. [Teacher]
Secretary to the Duke of Northumberland while Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. Secretary to the Lottery.
Founded Gray Prize in the University of St Andrews and provided the endowment for the Chair of Chemistry.
Death
Died 9.5.1811.
