Birth/childhood

Born 1745 son of [ ] Graham, saddler, Edinburgh.

Career

Served an apprenticeship and studied Edinburgh University before qualifying and later in 1784-1785.

Practised Yorkshire and in United States where he met Benjamin Franklin. Became a notorious quack in London, Edinburgh and elsewhere. Treated Sir Walter Scott’s leg. [Doctor]

Death

Died Edinburgh 23.6.1794 aged 49.
