Birth/childhood

Born 25.12.1847 son of James David Forbes, Principal of United College, St Andrews and Alicia Wauchope.

Career

Served engineering apprenticeship. C.E. [Civil Engineer] (M.I.C.E. [Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers]). Worked on railways - Newcastle, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Chile - until 1908. Afterwards director of several companies, chiefly foreign railways.

Death

Died 17.2.1924.
