Born 10.1.1785 son of Alexander Fleming, farmer, Bathgate and Catherine Nimmo.

Career

Studied Edinburgh University - divinity student at least 1801-1805.

Minister Bressay 1808-1811. Flisk 1811-1832. Clackmannan 1832-1843. Professor of Natural Science, New College, Edinburgh 1845 - 18.11.1857 (died). [University professor]

Publications, especially on zoology.

A history of British animals.(Edinburgh: Bell & Bradfute, 1828)
