Birth/childhood

Born 9.5.1853 son of James Clinkskill, engineer and iron founder, Glasgow and Josephine Katrine Marie Michel.

Attended Madras College, St Andrews.

Career

Entered business in Scotland first in cotton and yarn for 13 years then as a groceryman for 3 years. Went to Canada in 1881 to Winnipeg then Battleford where he was active in the community. Moved to Saskatoon in 1889 where he established himself as a business man. Sat in the Territorial Assembly. Mayor of Saskatoon 1900, 1911, and 1912. Active in providing water, sewers and lighting. Governor of the University of Saskatchewan.
