Born 4.11.1832 son of William Guest Bird, banker, Lichfield, Staffs. [Lichfield, Staffordshire] and Clara Dougan.

Career

M.R.C.S.Eng. 1854 when he was from Birkenhead. L.S.A. 1856. M.D. Melbourne ad eundem 1862.

Practised Richmond, Surrey then Melbourne. Lecturer in materia medica, Melbourne medical school 1869 -1881 and then in the theory and practice of medicine at Melbourne University 1881 -1887. [Doctor, university lecturer]
