Born 2.5.1824 son of James Berwick, weaver, collector of taxes and harbourmaster, St Andrews and Menzies Buist.

Teacher, St Andrews 1845 - 1848. Mathematics master Merchiston School 1848 - 1852. Headmaster Forres Academy 1852 - 1882 (retired).

Death

Retired to St Andrews and died there 17.10.1913.
