Birth/childhood

Born 13.11.1832 at Sharrington, Norfolk, illegitimate son of Robert [ ], farm labourer and Alice Bangay, daughter of William Bangay, carpenter, Sharrington.

Career

Studied Newcastle on Tyne.

M.R.C.S.Eng. 1862.

Worked on land then miner Seaton Delaville. Patronised by Sir William Trevelyan and entered medical school in 1858. Practised Newcastle 1862 - 1864. M.O. [Medical Officer] on emigrant ship to 1868. Practised Cheadle 1868 - 1876, then Lyme Regis c. 1876 - 1896 ( retired ), but did locums in London, New Tredegar and elsewhere. Took up practice again at St Helens, Auckland 1916 - 1922. [Doctor]

Death

Died a few weeks before his 100th birthday in 1932.
