Born 22.11.1787 eldest son of Thomas Balmer, land steward, Ormiston Mains, Eckford and Margaret Biggar.

Career

Studied Edinburgh University - divinity student 1808-1811.

Taught at Barnyards, Kilconquhar and in various families. [Teacher]

Licensed 1812 in the Secession church. Minister Associate Congregation, Berwick 1814 - 1.7.1844 ( died ).

Professor of Systematic Theology in the United Secession Church, 1835 - 1844. [University professor]
