Ventura de Mora

Biography

Ventura Mora (1796-1853) was a soldier born in San Esteban Pánuco (Tamaulipas). He served in the vice-regal army against the insurgents but was one of the first to join the Army of the Three Guarantees. By 1833 he was already a Brigadier General. He served Antonio López de Santa-Anna in 1832 and participated in the 1835-36 Texan campaign. He was assistant General of Staff from 1839 to 1840. He fought in the Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1853 was Commander General in Zacatecas. Mora died in Mexico City in 1853.
