Nicolás Condelle

Profession: Regular army officer, governor

Biography

Nicolás Condelle (1790?-1846?) was of born of French ancestry. He fought with the Spanish army against the insurgent armies. Conservative in his political leanings he was governor and commander general of Aguascalientes. Condelle formed part of the court that sentenced Vicente Guerrero to death. In the 1835-36 Texas campaign he led the Morelos battalion. Condelle died in Mexico City on 13 November 1863 at the age of 51.
